Frankly, it's hard to argue that either one of japanese and korean are useful to learn for anything besides personal reasons, unless you *know* you are going to work for japanese or korean companies.. Which language is easiest to learn: chinese, japanese, if you know japanese, learning korean is which asian language should i learn: chinese, japanese, or korean?. I wanted to work on my 3rd/4th languages. i was going to try to teach myself tagalog...as i can speak and understand some, but not fluently...but i also wanted to learn either japanese or korean..
Korean and japanese are similar in many ways, but korean may win the prize for being the harder language to learn....
